  • Torq-in on the crank bolt?

Hey guys I'm trying to loosen Delilahs engine. I took out the spark plugs, & saturated the cylinders with PB Blaster. I have a huge ratchet and the a 1-1/2" socket. I remember before someone mentioned snapping the crank bolt while trying to free an engine. How do I know how much to tweek on it? Does it take some grunting to snap that thing? I'm pulling fairly hard but definately not putting my a#@ into it.

130-140 ft/lbs. is the spec. for a V8 I would not put more than 160-180 ft/lbs. for fear of snapping the bolt. And they are getting hard to find.
