I won 5 showroom brochures for the 1961 Lark lineup on eBay recently...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=005&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&viewitem=&item=150063753963&rd=1&rd=1

Grand total of $8 for all including shipping :D.

These are brand new...never even been unfolded. All are stamped with:

A. Robert Perry, Inc.
Studebaker Sales & Service
4727 S. Salina Street
Syracuse 5, New York

Looks like the "stamper" dipped the stamp, then stamped 2 brochures then dipped the stamp again since on every other brochure the stamping is dark.

If you've got a 1961 and don't as yet have a showroom brochure, send me an email with your address, and I'll mail you one of these (I really only need to keep one).

Dick, there was a '61 Lark hardtop sold at an auction sale in Drumheller back in October. I had to go to work, or I'd have been there bidding on it. In any case, the car was purchased by Bob Rennie of the Foothills SDC chapter, so it has gone to a good home. I'll bet you Bob would like one of those brochures.

Mailed today, Ricardo. Give it a week or so...maybe longer with the Christmas rush.

Let us know what you need (or want even). We can probably find it easier than you can in some cases.

Dick,

I recieved the brochure today in the mail, and it made the best Christmas suprise!

Truly after recieving it I feel guilty of charging you for yellow paint....Thanks so much for the booklet. The kindness will not be forgotten!

BTW, heres my 61. It's nicknamed "Larkie". The picture was taken next to the final assembly plant in South Bend this past spring before it was delomished. I drove and had the only Studebaker at the official demolition ceremony of the "stamping plant". The 61 needs every piece of suspension rebuilt, four new springs and it will be on the road again....time and money permitted. Out of all the Studebakers I've owned none have had such a worn out suspension as this 61; there are pieces of garden hose substituted by one of its previous owners for lower control arm bushings[xx(]

Thanks,
Kent

I don't have a '61 Lark Dick, but I sure would like to have a solid '59 to '61 (single headlite), 2 door sedan. A 6 stick, project car would really be great. Keep your eyes peeled for me, will ya?

I sure will, Sonny...but being on opposite coasts, the shipping adds a big percentage to the purchase cost.

Good to hear from you, Sonny. Pop in more often, will ya? [8D]

Thanks a million Dick and I'm gonna try to spend more time. I got a HT from that coast and it spoiled me! I swear that I'm not gonna do another rot bucket. The cost of transporting it is WELL worth just putting a floor, trunk and A-pillar bottoms back in one!

Hey Bob! I understand the weather has been very mild "up there". [8D] I'm thinkin' that I remember your '60 as a real nice, finished car, right? If it's ANYthing close to the quality/fit/finish of the "Tomato", I probably can't afford it! [:0]

I'm selling my HT and want to put a pure race car together, (ALL Stude only parts), and it sure would be nice to find a nice 6-stick, project car, (no motor, trans, or interior). BUT, ya never know! Lemme know how ya feel this spring Bob.

Hope all is well with you and the loved ones! The ONLY thing I miss from there is you guys. I've been tryin' to keep in touch with everybody, but like me, everyone stays so dang busy.

Hi Dick.

I have just received today the magnificent brochure distributed by "Robert Perry Inc. Studebaker sales & service", that yopu sent me a couple of weeks ago. Thank you again for such a magnificent New Year gift.
May God Bless you and your dreams for 2007
(You have really mastered the preparation of parcels for overseas: The brochure was inside a heavy polybag, then sandwiched between paperboard liners and, finally the envelope was protected against the humidity with adhesive tape. )

My followup:

Received the brochure from Dick also- very much enjoyed and appreciated- it's now a poster on my home office wall [^]

The address on the brochure is in Syracuse- my hometown! I live about 25 miles North, and am in Syracuse a couple times a week... so I looked up the address hoping to see something interesting...

What I found was a rather non-descript hardware store [V] The building appears to be old enough to have been a Stude dealership, but has been so heavily modified I couldn't see any sign of it at all... took a couple pics and sent them to Dick, but didn't think they were interesting enough to bother posting........

In any case, thanks again, Dick!!!

Dick S. - I got a kick out of the "finally." I just received some Studebaker memorabilia, that I purchased, that was sent (USPS) from MN to NY before Christmas. Here your shipment got from WA to Chile in about the same time.
