  • Advice of paint and glue for dash pad install

I have my metal dashboard frame stripped and ready to paint for my 64 Lark. And, I have an NOS dash pad standing by.

My questions are, what paint should I use on the frame?
And, what glue should I purchase for gluing the pad to the painted frame?

I want to make sure there is good adhesion between the frame, paint, glue, and pad.

Any suggestions/tips are appreciated.. Thanks, Jeff

Use epoxy primer ONLY on the surfaces that get glue for the pad.

For the back-side etc.. any decent black spray-enamel is OK...
    I use acrylic-urethane w/hardener... but that's only because it's always in-stock.

    3M Super Weatherstrip Adhesive (spray-can)..
