California car, last licensed in 1973. It hadn't been driven on over 10 years or started in 3. Put gas in carb and as you might expect she fired up (with help of new battery). Am currently rebuilding drivetrain ,and getting her ready for paint job. It took me 35 years to own one (Dad raised me around Studes) and now the dream has com true

Looks like a good place to start!!! I passed on one of these about six years ago. It was a cross between an R1 GT and your '58~ all GT Hawk inside and under the hood, but in the Packard Hawk body...

Just heard about a Packard Hawk yesterday. It has been sitting about the same amount of time. I'm wondering if its the same one. Did it by Chance come from just South West of Yosemite?

Northern Cal. near Modesto-Stockton area. The guy I bought it from found it in barn 20 years ago, conveinced orig owner ( who was in his 80's) to sell it. 2nd owner was going to restore it when his kids grew up, however, he went through a divorce and was moving out of state. He never transfered the pink slip from orig. owner so I am legal 2nd owner of car. Sadly the Ohio DMV wouldn't let me keep orig pink slip, however office max made a perfect copy that I had laminated

Ok the hunt resumes. I talked to the neighbor he told me about one on Friday we were on The Murphy's Shakedown Run. Didn't get a chance to track it down. So Monday I try and find the owner and see if its for sale maybe get pictures. Hopefully find it a new home. I think I'm gonna start a Studebaker Rescue and Relocation Program Kinda like Adopt a Stude.
