  • Inter rocker panels

I keep seeing on E-bay where some company is selling inter rocker panels for 53-57 Studebakers. Did my 56 wagon have inter rocker panels??? When I got my wagon it was so rusted I would never been able to tell. Bought repop outer but never thought it ever had inter's. Thank You.

Ken,coupes, wagons, and sedans have outer rocker panels only like a guy is selling on e-bay. I think these are after market replacement.I don't think the seller is a stude guy. They may actually have a nice fit. If they are covered by an aluminum moulding as in 62-3-4 Hawk they then become inner rocker panels. Hardops like K and Lark models have pieces inboard of the outer rocker panels. These are parts of the {sub floor box assembly} Classic Enterprises calls these parts inner rocker panels. jimmijim

Yes, I'm working on a 55K at the moment that has these inter rocker panels. If you feel or look under the car there's a panel(or in this case two panels), that extend from behind the outer rocker panel to the chassis, and run the length of the car from the firewall to the rear shock assembly. What's funny is when I looked at them I thought, well, they either keep the outside of the body from flopping up and down, or they provide armor plating from roadside tire shavings as it fills the void between the frame and outer rocker panel. I presume the former rather than the latter .
