  • Coolant Recovery- V8 Lark

Has anyone put a coolant recovery tank in a Lark? Any suggested locations? Anyone have any pictures of one installed?

The inner fenders vary a lot depending on what year your Lark is. But usually the only logical place is the RIGHT inner fender, nearest the Radiator. The overflow tube is pointed that way, and there is room.
You cut the overflow tube about two to six inches from the radiator neck for the neatest installation.

On '62-'66's I have seen the right (High tone) Horn moved in the grille and the overflow tank mounted there, next to the Radiator.

It should be as HIGH as possible for best syphon-back, just be sure to check for hood clearance from under the car or whatever it takes. I put a ball of modeling clay on top, and latch the hood down to see how much, if any compression occurred.

Be sure you use the 13-14 Lb. Cap that has the gasket in the top as well as bottom for overflow systems it has to be totally sealed.
