You know how networking works. You tell someone you have something, they tell someone else. Before you know it, someone from Norway emails you they are in need of an engine for a 1933 Rockne convertible sedan, the only one known to exist. It's in a little museum and has some cracks in the head and block.
Many years ago I gave a 1950 Land Cruiser to Al Hall who vends used Stude parts out of Turbotville, Pa. Al, knowing I have a Rockne, gives me all the suspension and running gear from a Rockne someone street-rodded.
The engine sat outside in the weather for half a dozen years and then in my garage for the past ten years.
Well, Terje wants the engine as is and a deal is struck. I figure I should at least see how badly locked up it is. I put a large screwdriver in the hand-crank receiver and...it turns like it was running yesterday!
Lucky Norwegians.
