  • Mind the gap (T Cab cab height)

I'm having to rebuild the left front cab support on my Champ and because of the condition of the mount the floor was resting on the frame.

As old as this truck is (and as much as its been messed with), I don't have a lot of confidence that the right side is at its proper height either.

Can someone tell me what the distance is supposed to be between the unused body mount on the firewall and the frame? As you can see in the picture below the gap on mine is really narrow.

Try the thickness of the sidewall of a 6.70 by 15 tire. a bit over 3/16 inch.

Tom, thanks but I think that's the thickness of the rubber pad. I need to know how high the cab is supposed to be above the frame. My whole cab mount on that corner is gone and I can pretty much make it any height I want, and I want to make it right!

On my '62 7E7- ('62 1/2 ton)the forward edge of the body mount is 1 7/8 inch above the flat part of the frame, not the bent-up inboard side of the frame.

Thanks Doug, that just what I needed.
