I have the Avanti version of that stashed away. Nice, JP. Too bad it's not for a Hawk, you'd explode studebaker-R2-4-me's March lunch budget! ;)

I need one. How much do these go for? All of our other gauges are nos. Is it costly to have the faceplate redone? I wonder how many miles are on this one? It is tough to read the first number.

HA! Yeah, It sure would look great in my lark as well...but the problem is, I think it would be optimistic if I could even get it up to the top speed on my stock speedo! (now, if I could get an avanti engine for cheap, maybe I could fix that problem!!:D)

64's are common, SASCO just ran out of new ones last year. They are still out there for around $250.00

I've got my 160 MPH for my Hawk and a new glass lens coming too, but this 63 speedo was on my watch list for my future '63 Lark HT project. It just got too rich for my blood. Winning bid for over $700.00 Congrats on that part sale John.

That's great Allen. Patience paid off. Hope you have much better luck this year with all of your Studes. [^][^]

I was guessing about half that amount, but they are rare.

7 bills? No way I'll ever pay that for one[|)]

I'm always fascinated by the bidding on something like this: Was under $300 all week; couple hours to go, guy figures he'll throw about $350 on there, so he knows he's got it. With less than a minute to go, three snipe bids fire; item goes to buyer who hadn't bid since he went $200; his bid of well over $700 fires with 18 seconds to go.

Very interesting to me[8D]

At that price, I'll keep my 120mph speedo. Besides the cool factor, I don't think I would need a 160mph speedometer.

Very few 63's full package Larks were built and lots of clones need the speedo too. If you have a full package 63, you'll pay most anything if you need a speedo. Next to the R3 tach, probably the rarest gage out there.

Folks see the '200' speedo in my GT and stop there,..

They never seem to notice its km's..eh?

Ah for the good old days! Back in the early 70s I was at Standard Surplus and they had a table full of 160 certified speedometers. In my great foresight I bought one for something like $4.98- put it and a '64 gauge cluster in my '64 Champ (just hogged out the original holes a little). Unfortunately the speedometer came to a sad end when when son smashed it with his kneee in the head-on collosion that also destroyed the Champ.
