A good place I like to do comparisons are napaonline.com . NAPA main website. They actually put all dimensions on thier site. Then I'll go to partsamerica.com whichis O'reilly, checker, shucks, kragen and when you pull up the part there is an option to see All Vehicles the part goes to. So I go inbetween the two sites to reference parts. Partsamerica is good because we have kragen/oreilly here in town and it will tell me if they have it in the store or if it has to be ordered. Recently NAPA autoparts has started to carry Studebaker stuff, like suspension bushings ect.
On that note, I generally do not ask them to look anything up on the computer. I just take the number off the part, then ask the guy at the counter to give me thier book and leave me alone for a while. Everytime I tell them what I need they get lost . 1948 Studebaker doesn't come up on the parts computer very well.
