  • Quick Answer for Head Casting Numbers

I am pulling down what I presume to be a '55 259(fill is in front of the manifold, has a V stamping on the boss, block is dark green color, etc) and I have come across a number I cannot identify. This is the number over the center exhaust port. They are:

    535976

Ordinarily I use this number to figure the compression ratio, and where the heads came from, but from reading the Johnstone pages it isn't listed(sorry Bob [8)]). So does anybody have a set of heads with similar numbers and can provide me with any information?

I have plans on cleaning, cc'ing and porting these buggers for the JTS bare block, but I need some basic information beforehand. [8D]

That is the early Truck and export low compression head. It is too early to be a 15, 7 digit #. Its a 5. <535XXX>
