  • Skelly's Follies

    Emily Skelly has a passion....
It isn't having Pat's GT Hawk 'The Blue Buzzard' (Buzzard is a substitute word, BTW[}]) reside on the property any more.
That GT Hawk has been there for as long as I can remember.
Well, Pat got the itch to remove it.
Since it is a hulk, he decided to kill it.
    Pic's are at:

So, I helped him with the finesse part.

    It was a long afternoon.....
(Reminds me of those commercials "Are you going more often?)

It was a fun afternoon, and a lot of great parts were salvaged.
But I know Emily won't be happy until it is [u]ALL</u> gone

They are up for sale right now....

A little rough, corrosion wise, but neat (and wide) wheels....
        Pat has five of them.
        Get in touch with Emily...
(her pricing strategies are way more CASO than Pat's).....

            Havent touched it yet.
Pat said it is badly rusted on the bottom plate from the master cylinder on back.
Also bad by both front spring mount plates (rear springs).
The front clip area looked ok.
The LHS front body mount is rotted off and I think the frame is bad there too.
If you want it, talk to Pat....

A tip for those who are parting out a car.
Take a steel drum and put all the loose
small iron in it like brake drums, metal cut
offs even frame stuff.Cut two holes a few
inches down on the drum for chains or use rebar
and make lift points.Prepared iron brings more money
than just tossing the stuff in the car for weight.
Set the drum on your trailer in front of the hulk.
With the lower scrap prices right now every dollar helps.

                  Update: 3/15/2009

                  Always start with a plan....
                  Keep it short and sweet...

Then promptly ignore those instructions and cut everywhere except where it was carefully marked...

                  Then complete the 'Top Chop'

Always check and test your work.
Here we are flow testing the GT Hawk fuel tank.

                  And in the end....
                  Throw out the instruction book.....

BTW... The top is off awaiting Doug's brother picking it up...
                  Jeff[8D]

                          Jeff

I should work better than patching. Just curious why you didn't save the whole windshield opening and cut at the cowl?

I'd suggest a much larger engine that uses the fuel faster than it can run out.

No, the door post's were badly rusted and were not saved.
                            Sorry,
                            Jeff[8D]
