    Perhaps someone here can take an up close pic of a stock carb setup to show you what it 'should' look like...

      I don't have a picture but the set-up is illustrated in the chassis catalog.
      There's a spring from the bellcrank to the carb, one from the bellcrank to the rocker cover and one from the carb to the thermostat housing.
      If I had the catalog here I could scan it. But I don't.

          Boy, that's scary! So I need a strong spring to the carb and two lighter springs to return things. WOW!!!

            I'll get a picture of my dads car up tomorrow. I suppose with the spring set up, if that 120hp 232 cube beast should break free of its mooring the throttle won't hang open?

              Sorry day late and a dollar short as always [V]
              Any way here you go, the throttle return spring is not the correct spring (coming off carb bellcrank in the picture) but it works
