  • Drive a Studebaker every day?

Hello everyone. I've been thinking on this topic a bit. How feasible is it to drive a Lark type on a daily basis? At their age are they still reliable enough to depend on? I'm in a position where my brand x is being returned as frame damage was not disclosed. Rather than spending the dough on another new car.. was thinking it might be interesting to drive a studey for a while. Would appreciate input for those that are still doing it.

I have been driving my Stude on a daily basis. Its been great I even take her out of town 200 mile roundtrips. They were made for driving. As long as you do your maintance on them should be fine. Yours is alot newer than mine.

Bob - go for it! If I want to go someplace, it's gotta be in a Stude. I don't gots nuthin' else to drive.[8)]

Bob where you live is on your side...in other words fantastic weather and no chance of corrosion from snow and road salt. If your cooling system is up to snuff you shouldn't have any trouble in Palm Springs even in summer. In general, Lark-types run pretty cool thanks to superior engineering from our friends at Studebaker (big cooling front ends!) I would love to drive a Stude nearly every day but rust never sleeps here in Omaha, Nebraska. I'd sure say go for it!

Thats the fun in having more than one. Splits up the driving time on each car.
