  • 61 Lark ???

    Hello again:
For my 61 Lark 6 OHV, I have a 63 six OHV with the full spin on oil filter. Dumb question: What is the correct amount oil, allowing for the oil filter? My 61 owner's manual says five quarts, but when I check the dip stick, allowing for running the engine, settling the oil, etc, it reads on the "add oil" line and not the "full" line so does this take five or six quarts???
    Thanks.

You normally have to add one quart when the filter is changed because about a quart is held in the later oil filters (six quarts total).
