  • Engine wont turn: UPDATE: its running!

I'm pretty sure someones gonna know the answer to this one. I just replaced the cam timing gear on my lark (replaced the felt seal). After pressing on the gear with the correct tool, the engine turned fine. After putting the cover on and reassembling the the fan/etc, I'm now getting a rubbing noise and engine is hard to turn over. I bet this is something very simple. Any suggestions?

Hope you didn't use a 6 cylinder cam gear.

I'm guessing when you pushed the hub on, it caught the key and rolled it up.

You all won't believe this.. Tonight after work, I hopped in the ole girl, patted the dash and said, "show me your ready to go again", flipped the key... to my shock, it fired right up. I let it run about an hour, no leaks and a nice smooth idle. shut it off and let it sit a while, hopped back in and it fired right up again. Not sure what the problem was..but as someone likes to say.. if it ain't broke don't fix it. Next up brakes, exhaust and tires. I'm hoping by the end of the week she's runnin around again.
