  • 1958 T/T president

I purchased a 1958 president T/T 289 4 barrel that had been in storage for 32 years, replace point plugs and wires - runs like a top.
My question is what does the T/T on the back stand for?

Twin Traction. It is the optional rear end. Studebaker's name for positraction.

Thank you. Do you know how many 1958 presidents where produced?

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the purchase. I just bought a '58 Commander that was last tagged in 1974. It also now runs great. Glad to hear of another goofy '58 coming out of the woodwork. [^]

The body is solid except around the lower front fenders-rust.Most of the crome is in great shape, but I do need to re-crome the bumpers. They have rust spots on them.
