cork gaskets

with the cork gaskets like on the oil pando i leave thos dry or use something like rtv?

Permatex on the pan to allow it to slide as it compresses the cork and a touch of RTV at the pan corners.

Soak the cork gaskets in hot water overnight so they expand to their original size.

DO NOT use RTV on both sides of the gasket thinking it will help.... the only help you will got is that it helps let the gasket slide out of place.
Learned that the hard way on a White Superior Diesel generating unit... what a mess!
