Not sure but if its got "all transistor" on the front with white knobs its correct . Think they were used for at least 2 years .

All 1962 to 1966 Delco Radios (the only kind) have the thin push buttons on the Premium push button model (much taller ones on '59-'61), and a smaller height dial face than '59-'61 Delcos. White knobs & buttons on '62-'65, Black on 1966.

Speaking of '64 radios.....mine had a burnt out bulb in it and I just got around to changing it ....boy, what I thought was going to be a 10 minute job took a heck of alot longer ....those are a bruit to change .
Anyone putting a new radio in make sure the light works before you install because you won't like doing it later !

All good info, and it does have transistor on the front and white knobs, but is there a specific delco model number for this?

          Thank

Sorry Bill, I have the radio in my Commander, but I haven't pulled it out yet. It's going into the Daytona at some point.

I have a few of these units stashed in my basement under a bunch of crap(thanks to my brother-in-law, niece and great-niece)in my basement somewhere.I can tell you that the Studebaker part # is AC-3478 for the the manual tune model, and AC-3480 for the push button model. This probably isn't what you were looking for, and you may have this info already. If you can't get your answer in a timely manner, I can go into the dungeon after I take care of the 'list'that the Mrs. has planned for me.I'll check back Sat or Sun.Aw poop, I see you're in Canada so the Canadian numbers are AC-3473 and AC-3474 respectively.

Sho' e'nuf,I went into my parts bin and there it was. This was from a '64 and it had a sticker on the side that said>AC-3474 under which there was a 5 digit serial number and the words 'Delco radio division-Kokomo, Indiana'.

Hmmm....AC-3474 for Canadian Lark Types only huh! [?]

I wonder if that means that Canada did not use the Civil Defense System, so it would be missing the CD triangles?

Then they would have an issue on the cars imported to the U.S.

I can't imagine what else would be different, since it is not a Delco Canada Limited unit (that would be my FIRST guess!), the cars are virtually the SAME! [:0]

I don't know about '64's but my 63 Canadian VY-6 (in family since new) has the Delco AM radio in it and it DOES have the CD triangles on the dial face. BTW, the car was ordered with the radio from the factory so it isn't a dealer installed item either.

Whoa! where did that come from, out of the blue? []

Never seen THAT one before! [:0]

That is a very nice looking 1961 E40-195, perfect wheelbase for a rollback car hauler! VERY nice! [^]

What do you plan to put on back?

Actually it has been around since 1961. Seriously though, it first showed up in the March 2002 issue of Turning Wheels in Fred Fox's article on 1961 Transtars. Originally shipped to Windsor, Ontario's Overland Express depot, it has been a "Work in Progress" since I bought it in 1994. I posted a bunch of photos of it on the Studebaker Truck Talk pages last May and just figured out how to put the photo into the profile signature. A Jerr-Dann tilt & load had been suggested by a fellow Ontario Chapter member when I first started on it but I don't have the extra $20K sitting around. It will probably just get its old 18' oak flat bed re-installed.
