  • Daytona street rod ?

I got a call from a fellow that wants my 60,000 mile 64 Daytona to rod. The good news is he may push the price up and I can keep the near perfect driveline, the bad news is it's such a sweet car as-is. He'd rather have a chery finned Hawk, so I guess the Daytona is a smaller loss of a nice factory car.
Not knocking rodders, or their wanting nice cars to start with, just if I had my choice, I'd rather see the car kept as a Survivor. Please out bid him.

I hate to see clean survivors go that way. When I bought my Daytona, it was a roller with missing engine and trans. This is what I'm doing my rod project with. I don't think I'd have the heart to tear apart a clean one .

Good news, bad news story for me. It'll go way over the best offer I got from the internet Studebaker guys but I still hope it ends up with a ebay'er that'll enjoy it as it is ather then modified too much.

The only modification I'd do to it is R2 it. Send the rodder over to me with a bag of money and I'll sell him my 63 and I'll buy a nice complete one that wont take me three years to complete!
P.S I'll even throw in the chevy mounts I pulled out of a 65 Daytona

Excuse me ? The car is no being offered for sale here, it's technically already sold since it's made reserve on ebay. We talk about ebay cars all the time, I see no reason why I can't talk about mine as well.
In retospect, I guess I should not have made the joke about outbidding the street rodder, but it was followed by a grin icon.

You're right about the "please outbid him" comment. But now you're saying~
"We talk about ebay cars all the time, I see no reason why I can't talk about mine as well."

IT ALREADY IS BEING TALKED ABOUT~ IN THE OTHER POSTS!!!

All I'm saying is I think putting your comments on the post that you had going would've been within SDC's policy~ starting a new one is not~ in my eyes.
Maybe I'm the only one who sees it that way...
