  • Fast studebaker V8 recipes ????

I read and re-read every Turning Wheels issue with the Pure Stock Musclecar Drags coverage, and always want more ! George Krem's R3 Plain Brown Wrapper,Ted Harbit's Stude Tomato and Chicken Hawk, and all the other Stude powered racers are an addiction for me.I se George has a supercharged Lark going together that makes me drool.

I am most fascinated with the supercharged engines, and have plans to either build another 59-60 Lark 2 door post with a blower, manual trans and make a real mindblower sleeper,or make my 57 Golden Hawk really perform while still appearing stock to most people.

So besides the obvious R2,R3 setups, what specs are guys using nowdays to make a Studebaker V8 really go?

Ken, have you been following Jim Pepper's various insertions in The Co-Operator from time to time, about how to make a Studebaker V-8 go fast, depending on your time and money? Jim has made some excellent suggestions periodically over the last several years.

The January 2009 Turning Wheels didn't contain a Co-Operator or Almanac, as usual for the large International Meet issue, but both features will return as normal in February.

Among the items coming up in the February 2009 Co-Operator is almost a page of advice from Jim Pepper in response to yet another member's inquiry about how to warm up his V-8. BP
We've got to quit saying, "How stupid can you be?" Too many people are taking it as a challenge.
