  • Nice surprise in the mail today

Got a nice padded envelope from the SDC Membership Secretary c/o Cornerstone Registrations, Ltd today.

I didn't know they were still giving out pins, and even better, they are a month or so early (joined the Sequoia Chapter in California in February, '69).

Sheeesh Paul, maybe you should mail it back until you put in your full 40! [)] Seriously, congratulations. As if your cars aren't enough of which to be proud. Wow. [^][^]

Got mine a couple of months ago. It will be 42 years this year. Long love affair. First Studebaker was in 1952. 1937 President coupe.

I envy you Paul. Cool deal.

I'd be toting my 35 year pin (last year no less) if a divorce hadn't gotten in the way. But because of that 4-year absence, no cigar. I'm a 24 year member in the eyes of the club.

Buster (one of my two remaining birds) is due his 25-year pin from me this summer. As fate would have it, I aquired a Parrot before I got back into Studes with a Lark![^]

          1953 Commander coupe

No deceptive flags to prove I'm patriotic - no biblical BS to impress - just ME and Studebakers - as it should be.

Congrats to you, too, Dick. [^] You don't see people sticking with anything like that anymore. You both deserve more than a pin.
Biggs, you deserve a retroactive appeal process. Life events should be taken into account.

Congrats on 40 years Paul!!! I'm sorta confused though...

The only pins I've ever gotten were ones I had to buy.
Is it different when you have been a member longer?

Actually, I thought you had to buy them too. However, I didn't order one or even request one. Maybe I had a Secret Santa. The only explanation I can think of is I am a life member- maybe that makes a difference. I think I got one automatically at 20 or 25 then I thought they decided not to give them out anymore, but would sell them to you as you qualified.

I regret that I diid not do the lifetime membership when I had the opportunity back in the early 80's almost as much as I regret not getting my own membership back in the 70's instead of just reading my boss's copy.
