That was an incredible look into the past. I wish I had been around for Mike's "Grand Tour" of the buildings before they were knocked down.
Gotta wonder what all those engines were for...... probably all got sent to scrap metal.

Engines were military multifuel taken out of trucks that were being rebuilt by AM General. What happned to them, good question, [u]may</u> have been rebuilt for inventory and shipped to an Army Depot.

Awsome pictures!...But sad. The inside of the plants remind me of the plant I retired from (Chevrolet Mfg) in Flint, Mi. Same construction and everything.

Thank you for posting the pictures, I never get tired of looking at the old factory buildings, it's a shame that most of them are gone.

Every picture tells a story, don't it? These are all painfully eloquent, and the composition is uniformly outstanding. I'm torn between wishing I'd taken them and wishing I didn't find the ghosts in them so painful to see.
