Hi, we have just got a 1953 2 door.

The plate in Engine bay says 14G F3 31.05

The plate inside the door says G 922443.?

What does this mean? and is this a Deluxe 2 door champion coupe ?

We are in Melbourne Australia...happy to pay in $US dollars for parts ..We need a manual, a catalogue and alot of parts, such as a engine kit to rebuild, the steering box is very "sloppy " etc etc..

And as much info on the car we can get..

Thanks in advance.

Welcome aboard, Rick!

The body tag:
14G = '53 Champion
F = 2-door sedan
3 = Deluxe trim level
3105 = the 3105th 14G-F3 body tub that was welded together.

The serial number:
G 922443 = a Los Angeles built '53 Champion.

Rick. I'm fairly new to the SDC website too. Maybe Mr. Biggs will
read your post on the numbers, and help you out. He seems to be well
informed on things Studebaker. I appreciate his input. On the
Classified ads page when you scroll down far enough there will be
Studebaker vendors. I have bought stuff from a couple of them, and
have enjoyed talking with them. Just look around, and you will
find what you need. Welcome aboard!

Welcome, Rick.

You have a very active Studebaker Drivers Club in Australia. Check this link to find your local Chapter.
http://www.studebakerdriversclub.com/lc_worldwide.asp

Introductory membership in SDC is available for $19.95US at this link
http://www.studebakerdriversclub.com/joinsdc.asp
The monthly edition of TURNING WHEELS you recieve with membership will answer more questions and supply more contacts than you could possibly need.

Any catalogs, manuals or parts you will need are available from many of the Studebaker vendors,
http://www.studebakervendors.com/

If I had my parts catalog here I could identify your exact model. I'm sure someone else will chime in soon.

I'm glad you found our forum and, rest assured, the folks here will do everything we can to help you enjoy your new 53.

You see!! Folks chimed in before I had a chance to post!!
