View Full Version : 56 hawk chrome fin

I am trying to locate the chrome trim that goes on the front of the fins on the 1956 Hawk. They look a bit like false vents.

I assume they are rare since they are only used for this model made this one particular year. I don't need to keep the trim. I just need to make a casting of the piece. Unless you don't need the trim back.

Thanks for your help.

I had no idea there were four different versions. thanks for the info.

I don't really have a preference as to which one, unless they were different to fit differences in the fins (assuming there were differences in the fins. I have no idea if there were. My hunch is no.)

As long as whatever pieces I use are in one piece, they can have cracks and pits.

That's great spirit for 2009. [^] Out of curiosity, were there different trim pieces on other Hawks than the Golden for which he may be asking? I noticed "Golden" Hawk wasn't originally mentioned and the recent Flight Hawk we saw posted doesn't have fins, so I just wondered. Sorry, still learning my Hawk trivia.

Edit: I found this link and scrolled down for the pretty decent pictures posted. Remembering posts here that stated many owners added trim on their Hawks from others, I'm not sure which ones are correct, but a good view of the differences for Hawk neophytes.

The Sky Hawk also had a similar piece and is more rare than the Golden Hawk. The sky hawk was a also a hardtop, neither the power or flighthawk had the "check mark".

It is an addiction!
