View Full Version : Parts in Northern California -Some Free for Pickup

I have a complete rear end out of a '54 Commander. Guessing it's a 27 or 44? Geared for overdrive I believe. I can grab the numbers off it if someone is interested.

I also have the front suspension including upper & lower control arms, kingpins, brakes & drums, tie rods, bellcrank, etc. The lower arms are no good, but the rest is usable.

And I have a straight front bumper off a '62 Hawk.

These parts are all available free for pick-up ASAP. I'm not really interested in dealing with shipping as they are bulky items -that's why they are free!! :)

I have other parts including pot metal trim for '53/'54 commanders (no front grilles or tail lamps) that is intact and re-plateable. Also some stainless trim for '62-'64 Hawks.

I'd like to get some money out of the trim and will likely list it on Ebay, but if someone is looking for something in particular let me know.

Thanks ~Will (Chico, Ca)

I still haven't forgiven you for selling my red r1 4dr. (Daytona?) to somebody else instead of giving it to me for my birthday!!!

Kidding, of course![:o)] Good offer- can't beat that price[^]

I kinda miss that Daytona too Bams :( But she went to a good home...

The new owner emailed me with an update a few months back saying he had repainted the car(original Bordeaux Red), detailed the engine compartment, and rechromed a few bits here and there. He had planned to debut the car soon after that.

He is in New Orleans and had lost a few cars during the floods. So if you happen to be in that area, you might just see one of only a handful of '64 Daytona R1 4-doors flying about -and a red on red car at that!!.

The car had less than 50K original miles on it when I sold it.

I still get goosebumps when I watch this Youtube video footage of the car and me laying down some rubber at the end :)

I had forgotten about that video. I just love it. I remember that car when it was for sale. I shoulda bought it myself. I just could not get my son to go in on it. someone has to drive it. I can't just let cars sit around. He saw the video and remembered it too. Now he wishes he had bought it too. Great looking car.

Hey guys the Dayona is done now. Just have to get pics up some where. Pretty much had to redo the whole car including rebuild the motor. Runs like a clock now . Just finished the break in, just hoping that I can get some descent weather now to take it out some more.

Here's some more stuff I have for sale available for pick up:

-(4) New American Racing steel wheels with new Champion SE 205/75 R15 tires mounted and balanced. These will accept Avanti hubcaps -so I'm guessing other Stude hubcaps will fit? Have a set of four Avanti hubcaps too.....asking $200 with the caps.

-Also found a box of new weather stripping I forgot I had bought years ago for a '62 Hawk. Looks like there's front and rear door/vent/window/sill rubber and rear trunk and cowl rubber. Purchased new from Studebaker of California -been sitting in a box on a shelf at my shop ever since. Probably list this on Ebay since it is shippable...asking $400.

-Also have good front original factory green tint windshield for '53-'64 C/K and good rear original factory green tint windshield for '53-'61 C/K. What's a fair price for these?

Dick S. is planning to come through next weekend to pick up some stuff. I have to be out of my shop by the end of the month, so I'm looking to get rid of the large stuff ASAP.

Thanks ~Will

Wheeee...THAT's a pretty car! [:p]

James Bell has a '63 version of a similarly equipped one here in Bellingham.

I believe I'd take an R powered 4 door over a 2 door hardtop. Special cars for sure.

WOW!!! Looks awesome Anthony!!!

Nothing here left over for the Daytona except fond memories :)

So what'd you end up doing with the exhaust?

ChampTrucking -those were standard turbo style mufflers installed at my local professional muffler shop -I can get a brand name if you'd like.

I feel fortunate to have a really good muffler shop in town that insists on installing quality parts. They weld and bend pipes on premises rather than using pre-bent pipes and clamps. I take all my stuff there and send as many over as I can.

WOW WOW WOW, That thing looks fabulous. I love the 64 4 doors also, Dick. I think the long wheelbase is what does it. Great lines and what a cool ride.

That car was born to smoke tires!!!

Sadly, I don't think the original owner (a rural postal delivery woman) ran that car out nearly often enough, although her son did tell me she loved spankin' people on occasion at this one stop light in Red Bluff, Ca. back in the day.

A really special car that somehow ended up at a small Northern California dealership in 1964 -purchased new for use as a rural delivery vehicle -then retired and babied for many years before being parked and stored away with only 44K original miles on the clock.

A real keeper and a special car for sure!!
