I just watched a movie on AMC channel called "Stand By Me".

It has a bullet nose in it.

Well guys that is my Studebaker (Bullet)! The production company that filmed the movie in Brownsville OR (just North of Eugene) rented the car from me, it was red primer, painted it blue and put a cheap interior in it. I still have the car exactly how it is in the Movie. I watched the filming of the "chicken scene" and others. The actual filming took place back in 1982 or so. I will atempt to add a pic of the car so you can see it.
That is also why my hansle is Bullet.

One of my all-time favorite movies...mostly because it reminds me so much of my own boyhood, with a match to virtually every character in the movie, including the teenage bullies (although the ones in my world wouldn't be caught dead in a Studebaker).

It reminds me of my days in high school 56-59 only thing I had the shoebox and was racing a 48 Packard , the first 1/4 mile the Packard was just a speck in the rear view but as we went on to bridge a full 2 miles in all the Packard came by me and still climbing I was maxed out at 95 mph and he made my doors shutter. try and do that now days!!! ..Bob

That's great, I remember watching the movie years ago and the scenes with the Stude... interesting to know the connection to the real world. [^]:)

As promised here are some pixs of the Bullet in the Stand By Me Moive. the moive is based on a Stephen King short story entitled "The Body" We had always referred to the Studebaker as Bullet so when it went into the movie it became Bullet is in The Body. Enjoy.

Great thread! I'm gonna have to look for this movie. Thanks for the pics guys!

BTW, there's another movie, who's name I can't remember, where another '50 Stude, (that awful green color from that year), was in the lead. About the same story line, the bullies against the hero, but the Stude in that movie got damaged because the hero ran his Stude into the bullies. Anybody remember the name of that movie? Thanks in advance!

Oh, man...I know I'm getting old when "Stand By Me" isn't in everyone's vernacular. After that movie, we NEVER messed around on railroad tracks! Don't even mention leeches...
Too bad it wasn't a '51 Commander V8. Might have been a much different scene.;)

[8D] NICE WORK on the screen grabs, Leonard!!
