I was recently told that our turning wheels featured a 52 commander or champion a couple of years ago with a 50 model bullet nose front end, Was wondering if anyone recalled what issue it was and possibly who built/owned it? I'm in the process of building a similar car and need all the help I can get!
Thank you,
Dean.

I don't know about the TW one, but a '50 Studebaker is quite different from a 51 or 52. It would be MAJOR work to put a '50 front end on a '52. A '51 bullet nose front end, on the other hand, would be pretty much a bolt on to a '52.

I think he's referring to the '52 hardtop that someone put a '50 front clip on - thus obtaining a hardtop bulletnose. Wasn't it a cover car?

IIRC it was a 51 front clip.

It is questionable exactly what year front end parts I have, they could be in part 51 but the center piece is a 50. Was hoping someone could tell me what issue of turning wheels that particular car was on so that I could order the back issue?

Looks like my memory needs work.

Keep us posted, Dean, it's a style that's timeless.

I had hopes once of gluing a '50 Commander front end on a 52 hardtop, but while it could be done, I can't do it.

[Edit] If it were me, I'd loose the 52 grill guard.

It looks like it is a 51 front clip with a 50 bullet.

Yup, it's mostly 51 bullet stuff on the front.
The very "bullet" is from a 50, but that's ALL that's '50 on it. He retained the 52 HL pods and bezels, which is an easy swap onto '51 fenders.
