Rick Coutier is officially in mourning[V]...
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j54/deepnhock/MourningOldChicago.jpg
Rick was '[u]this</u>' close to completing his 'World Tour'..
He went there Sunday to watch the Tampa Bay team lose...
He went home, and a couple of hours later the whole place was packed up, cleaned out, and shut down:(
Fortunately, they transferred everything to their other branch about 35 miles away.
(Which is lucky, because there's usually a few hundred miles separating franchises...
(I am on a 'World Tour' also, but I never got out of town;))
At least they sent me a note....which was nice.
(I might have driven 350 miles to find out they were closed![:0]....(NOT[|)])

Why is this in the Studebaker Only section of the SDC Forum? Am I missing something, other than a tie-in with Rick?

Which one are you referring to? The Rock Auto one was to give a heads up that their feature car was a 1957 Golden Hawk. I certainly think that is Studebaker related, don't you?
Also, why do you have to shout out with these large fonts?

Sorry to hi-jack your thread Jeff. [:0] :(

Let's see~ A Golden Hawk on the cover of a catalog for a company that I've never even heard of- okay, maybe just barely Stude related. If they sold Stude parts~ I'm sure I'd have heard of them by now, and they'd matter to me.
I'll bet it was a gold car too, right? Yup- never seen one of those before- how interesting.
I suppose I'll have to start posting every single time I see something like that.
OR maybe I won't do that- everyone else already does.

As to the font (yet again)~ Because it's easier to read. Because I can.
Because I like it.
To be different
Because I can.BTW-
THIS IS SHOUTING.
This is not.

Rock Auto sells replacement parts...not NOS
Not everyone here cares whether a horn relay switch is NOS or not.
Example:SI sells a nos one at $22.25..Rock Auto's is $11.07
There are those(myself included)who will buy generic when possible
to save enough to buy the important NOS or repopped parts from
any one of the great Studebaker vendors out there.
Take the time to look at a company you dont know about.
You might learn something...unless you know everything.
Why do I post this?
Because I can....lol

Now I know all about them~
Their stuff is so good that two folks here (and a few more on Gary's thread) took time to post, yet no one has a link to these wonderful discount parts...

I've just got to get to looking for these guys' parts!!! Top quality I'll bet, too.

Wow, must be cabin fever setting in....

I have some Rock Auto parts on my Studebaker too. Good people. They also provided gift certificates for a car show we had. Might be someone to hit up for your Chapter events or meets. Here's the link: http://www.rockauto.com/

Sheesh.. My apologies...
So I made a mistake.
A feeble attempt to post some humor in a cavil forum.
I am usually one of the best at sorting things properly for your discernation.
But, since this has turned nitpicky...
I'll apologize once more.

Pat, my thoughts exactly! Maybe someone will post a link to some "chill pills".

Of course, I hope they post it in the 'Stove Huggers' portion of the forum.;)

Dave - If you read my post, you would see that I said that a 1957 Golden Hawk was the feature car in their Newsletter, not that it was a catalog cover car.

Dave - I support and only buy Studebaker parts from our Studebaker vendors. I purchased hatch struts for a PT Cruiser from Rock Auto after learning that Chrysler dealers can not longer get direct replacements but want to sell you some conversion at a higher price. I doubt that your father, or any of the other Studebaker vendors, carries hatch struts in stock.

Jeff - I accept the apology and understand that the initial posting/topic was a mistake here.

Very well~ I stand corrected. Thank you for keeping me straight.
Next time I'll read slooower, or more then once before I post anything.

I'm not exactly sure what PT Cruiser parts (or my Father) have to do with this, but thanks for the tip. I just happen to have a PTC in my driveway. I rented it for my trip North, as I didn't want to put the wear and tear on my own ride. When I return it to the rental agency- I'll let them know where they can get some good deals on parts. I wouldn't want them to waste their time calling Dad (or other Stude vendors) looking for PT Cruiser parts.

You're normally very helpful, letting us know when to two tone and when not to two tone or which whitewalls we ought to have (or not have) on our cars. As such- I was quite surprised there was no link to the Rock Auto site in your post, or an explanation that they had parts of interest to us StudeFolk. There are new StudeFolks (and even a few older ones) who didn't know of this parts source. Now we do. Thank you Pat.

That's it, that's all- I'm done with this. I've got better things to do. Have a nice day.

Geez, you shouldn't have to apologize, it dosen't even seem like it would be worth the time to "police" the forum for an out of place post here or there.

From where I sit, you owe no apology. If some individuals are too tightly wound that is their problem. Next thing folks will want us to actually put lips to buttocks .........lighten up the country is falling apart and Jeff is taken to task........unbelievable.
