Has anyone had their '55 grille shell replated? I was wondering what to expect to pay (ballpark figure). It has pretty deep pitting. Are there any NOS available? Thanks for your help. Quentin

I had a recent quote for about $2400 - two sides, one centre, big V in middle centre. Many places will quote you, but they do need to see it first.
Chroming is expensive. Pot metal, removing pits, environmental controls.
No NOS available unless stashed by someone. It often shows up on EBay.

I looked into it for my 55 project. I was told $1900 for the three pieces. I politefully declined.Comment

I sold a set that had been rechromed nicely. The guy paid 2K, but unpitted could be dine for a bit less, pitted as much as double that and it will only get more expensive.
