http://skyscrapercity.com/images/smilies/eek3.gifThat CAN'T be the going rate of these things, can it?

One thing about it though, were all 2 door decklids the same? I thought there was a difference in them; for instance, I didn't think a Biz coupe deck lid will fit a Starlight coupe.

I thought he was. I was just making sure. Just curious, what IS the going rate of a nice, rust free '51 deck lid?

It's better than what you'd find in South GA. [V]

IT SEEMS LIKE IF HE WANTED $700.00 FOR IT, HE COULD HAVE AT LEAST CLEANED THE LEAVES OFF OF IT

Which one of you is going to get the "Avanti" impact wrench? Were I an Avanti guy, I'd buy it just for the novelty of it...

Personally, I don't have any sockets that fit a 6 inch impact [:0]

It does say 1/2' impact................

Matthew; I've always been told that none of the three trunk lids (deck lids, boot lids -whichever) for two door Studebakers 1947-1952 are interchangable. The three models- regular 2 door- 6 passenger (F body), 2 door coupe-5 passenger (C body) and the 2 door coupe-3 passenger (Q body). They all have different dimensions. Not sure if the 1952 K body trunk lid interchanges. The lid in the eBay auction appears to be from a cheapie model.

That's what I thought too, Mr. Drumheller. I know we had a hard time finding one for the '51 Starlight.
My rotted '52 HT has a '50 trunk lid. I think it came off a 4 door Champ. It's pretty solid too. If anyone wants it, I'll give anyone here a deal; only $500.00. :D

Yes, this one appears to be from a Custom trim level car, it has the small (uglier IMO) handle on it. :)

The C-body and the Q-body share one lid. The 4-door sedan, 2-door sedan, Land Cruiser, Convertible and the '52 hardtop share the "other" decklid. ;)

The one on ebay has the "Custom" trunk handle on it. It's not as fancy as the Deluxe, winged thing. I've bought and sold these fairly recently for $200 or a little less. Doesn't matter if for sedans or Starlights, a good one is tough to find.:)
