  • Powder coating practice

I am experimenting with the chrome powder coating. It looks more like polished aluminium. I'm also working on the orange for Studebaker valve covers. I'll post some comparison pictures soon.
I'm also working on valve cover yellow, but I'm not even close yet.

Jamie, I couldn't help but notice that you have your machine set to "heavy duty". For the two parts pictured, that is obviously a good choice. But maybe for the orange and yellow, you might want to switch the machine to "colors".

Yep, the spin cycle is kind of rough. [8D]

But the spin cycle on that Cabrio will get it dry in no time.
And the clear lid will let you see the results in real time.
        If you can keep up[xx(]

        Ask me how I know.

I bought a powder coating kit at Harbor Freight, but the only colors they have is white and orange. Where do you get chrome? I haven't used the kit yet, but if I could do chrome like that, I'd be into it.

I buy my powder from Eastwood, they do have chrome. I also buy from Columbia and Caswell. I ordered some extreme chrome from Caswell. I'll see how it does when it gets here. It's supposed to be the best on the market. I did buy some from Rosies, but I didn't like it.

                Chopstu,
My Cabrio does not have the clear lid. Doesn't really matter. After what I paid for the washer and drier, it better last longer than Studebaker stayed in business.
