Bill,

I have NEVER seen a set of those wheels! What do they even LOOK like??? Do they wear any sort of hub cap or cover?[:I]

When I bought my '61 6E-28 grain truck in Georgia, the original owner advised me that he special ordered 19.5" tires and wheels for it. The look the same as my other large trucks and do not have caps. I will check later, but seem to recall they are narrower than a typical 20" rim.

That's gotta look, ah, different! Wouldn't you need the larger wheel openings (ala 16, 17 and larger trucks) in the fenders to accomodate these wheels???[:0]

Now that I think of it, it seems like these might be capable of making a REAL difference in gas mileage over the standard 15".[:I]

I checked SASCO's website last night and these wheels didn't come up in inventory.

This is a picture of Elbert's rims. Truck came with hubcaps. The rims are 8 bolt 3/4 ton 19.5 inch rims and came that way from the factory. The truck came with the "big truck" front fenders so the tires would fit.

Any idea how hard it is to find tires that size?[?]

Let your fingers do the walking.
Also I believe the 19.5 x ? is commonly used on commercial delivery trucks.

Some of Goodyears offerings in that size.

Many of your newer "medium" duty trucks of today...GM 4500 series, Ford Super Duty 450 and 550, Isuzu NQR, UD 2000, etc.Even UPS uses them. It has been a common size for 5 or 6 years AT least.;)
