There's a registry for 56 GOLDEN Hawks, but I don't think there's such for the other Hawks of that year. What do you desire to know? Maybe we can help? You can get a copy of the build sheet for YOUR PARTICULAR Hawk from the Studebaker museum - that would tell you the date it was built - how it was equipped and MAYBE even where it went to if it had been ordered by a dealer.;)

Not that I dont already have enough on plate to do, but I am currently finishing up a Deusenberg Model J registry that was donated to my site. If someone wants to take the time and do something like this for Hawks I would gladly post the finished edition on my site.

Let me know when that Duesy registry's read, Randy. I was fortunate enough to drive about a half dozen or more of those beauties some years ago. Not that I'd recognize them now, but there was one SJ roadster I think I'd be able to spot. It had belonged to Wrigley of chewing gum fame. I thought it was an ugly thing but it made people take notice![:0]

I too own a 56 Power Hawk and would like to register it along with all the other 56 Power Hawks as well. I would be willing to set up a registry but I would need to find out how to go about it. I had talked to the fellow that has the 56 golden Hawk registry last year but did not follow up the inquiry. Please answer back and maybe we can get something going. Pete at vdidogenext.net

I think the idea of a registry is to track the the number of cars left out of all the ones that were originally built. The 56 Power Hawk registry would also have room for the Flight Hawk, Silver Hawk and Sky Hawk as well. What do you think?

You might consider keeping it limited to '56 Non-Golden Hawks. Hey that doesn't sound too bad: "The 1956 Studebaker NOT a Golden Hawk Registry"! [^]
There were VERY few Sky Hawks built, almost none left so the few restored/driveable Flight & Sky Hawks would not be an unwieldy group to handle. But adding Silver Hawks would be a nightmare, since they were built from '57 to '59, there are quite a few left. Then there's the '60 & '61 "Hawks" also "C' bodied coupes! [:0] Rich.
I LOVE Sky Hawks,[:p] BUT, I own a Power Hawk :)

I'd add our Sky Hawk and Flight Hawk. The Sky Hawk is a little rusty and a future project, but the Flight Hawk is really solid, although it was made into a Power Hawk when a previous owner installed a 259 and OD trans, and we're putting a '54 nose and rear end on it. We have several Hawks but no '53-'54's, so...

My grandad also has a sweet '57 Silver Hawk, although the frame and body shell started life as a '60 Hawk. [:0] But, he rebuilt the whole thing, replacing every body panel on it, and decided to go with '57. :D (I suppose you could call it a 'clone', but who cares? It's his baby and he loves it. That's all that matters. [^])

I think that would be tough. The ones owned by SDC members would be listed in the SDC directory. How would you reach non SDC members that might own these cars (and maybe not even know what they are)?
