Key Code HELP!!!!!!!

Can anyone tell me the modern key code for my 54 commander coupe? I need the code for the ignition and door key.

Key codes are different for each car. Has to do with the depth of the cut at each position on the key.

Thanks I am aware that the cut is different I need to know the key code for the blank so the locksmith can cut me new keys to fit my igintion and door locks because I do not have any keys for him to match by.

You can get the original key codes from the factory build sheet.

You may also be able to find a locksmith who will make new keys to fit your locks. I did this with my 55 President, sent the locks off, they came back newly keyed.

Domenic, if they don't have any decent blanks I have a few original extras for your car that I can mail you. They're easy to get, I just have some I'll probably never use. Those keys aren't so complex they will ever be confused with Nuclear Sub keys. [)] They should be easy to key code to your car.

Most knoledgeable locksmiths could make a key from one of the cylinders. I lost my keys once & AAA came out & made a key right then & there. If you have a new blank, all the better! I have one locksmith that I take all my stuff to & he rekeys them to the one set of keys I have for all my Studes. Makes it really convenient not having different keys for each car.
