Lark Parker: Aren't you about ready to trade up to the next decade from your virtually-identical '39 President?[8D] BP
We've got to quit saying, "How stupid can you be?" Too many people are taking it as a challenge.

I'm pretty sure mine has a late serial number and sold
as a year end model. If that one is an early serial I
wouldn't be gaining much more than two weeks.
Those good running boards are probably worth $1000 so
that would put me out $850 for the rest of the car. It
does have an overdrive control peeking out in the picture.
Naah, I'll wait for a better deal. This one is blue and
I don't like the location of the ignition switch keys on
top of the dash and the license plate is crooked.

Maybe RQ Could buy that mirror for me. It is special
and I don't have one. I will trade in my old cowl side
molding (even trade) so that there won't be a missing piece.

Is it true that there could be a pair of wigwag tail lights
      inside the trunk?

I'd like to add that I have MANY pictures of the car. I personally looked it over VERY throughly, and found it a solid, well optioned car, that was driven into that barn. At some point in time after it had been sitting for a while, someone tried to get it started and left the plugs out, and they're still out.

So, the motor is stuck, it looks like the trunk took a light hit, (high), the trunk lid has had some "creative" repair done to it, and there's been a very light tap to the right front fender. Other than that, the car is very complete, (except for the left tail light lens), solid and has some pretty expensive parts still in place on it. What's that steering wheel, Studebaker logo fog lights, and those VERY solid running boards worth?

In my personal opinion, the asking price of $1,850.00 is very, very reasonable, well worth the money.

The pictures are posted here; http://racingstudebakers.com/copperm...s.php?album=25

OH! I was just wondering.... Is that the end of a wig-wag tail light peeking out from under the front seat....

Sonny; Glad you are OK. The seller indicated you had some health issues.
Maybe he was referring to those hallucinations (like seeing a wig-wag under the seat?). Hope someone will buy it and give it a good home (or a good burial after salvaging all those great parts!). With a little cleaning and polishing it could look like this:

Thank you Sir Richard! Yeah, still have a few issues, but the VA is trying to ignore them as much as possible.

In any event, mebbe it was the angle of the sun that made me think that I saw a wig-wag. Oh well, only the new owner will know for sure!

Hot dog! Now THAT is one beautiful car! Heck, that barn car isn't too far gone. In fact, pull it out, get all the dust off of it, drop a motor in, voila', drive it and pick at it as ya go! Man-o-man, I sure hope that car gets saved, it's WELL worth the effort....

            Thanks again Richard!
