  • Lark TAXI photos can somone post one or more

I only have a couple of taxi photo's

Does anyone have a nice shot of a 61 lark taxi? First

Then if no 61's how about the 60, 59.

I bid and won a plaque from ebay that supposedly were in the passenger compartments of Stude Taxi's, thanking the riding customers, and to remember to get there luggage before exiting the taxi.

Thanks for the help, Hope to make a nice shadow box display in the garage with an 8x10 photo, Kevin

I think this is a 61. The tail lights are not 61, but the windshield and roof line looks like a 61.

There is a 62 taxi in the Roanoke Transportation Museum.

I have an old picture of a 62 taxi in Richmond.

That sign ("plaque") is available. There was one sold at the SDC auction this year.

That sign was mounted on the interior of the right rear door of taxis.

I saw a STACK of them on the counter at SASCO a couple months ago.

What is shown as Chuck's taxi appears to be a Cruiser that is made to look somewhat like a taxi.

                    It's a genuine Y1 taxi, Gary...

Oh wow...Chuck's taxi seriously rocks! Thanx for posting those fine pix of it. Could the front 3/4 view be a cover shot??

Great pictures, as usual, Leonard. You beat me to posting the 59-60 taxi brochure; the only taxi literature I own. I'm pretty sure the above picture is a '59, though..flat tail lights and front fender mouldings.

Pardon my igorance but the zipper in the headliner is for...?

Please don't tell me it's to turn the light on and off on the roof mounted taxi light.

Yep! ...and for the cop lights, if they bought the Y body. Switch was probably on the dash, though.

                              A zipper...Hmmm...of all the technology...
to reach up, unzip and turn the light on and off.
And beside it is a nice neat little light fixture,, with a switch to turn the interior light on and off...

                              Things that make you go,...hmmm...
