wheel rim glamor ring removal

I'm stripping down a 1950 Champion 2 door for parts.



It has rims with stainless "glamor", or "beauty" rings.



I have four good rims without rings. I assume that there are some sort of clips that hold these on. Is there a way to remove the rings from the rims without ruining them? If so, will they clip into my unringed rims?

Remove them pretty much as you would a full wheel cover. As hotwheels63r2, just don't pry too much at any point.

Thanks for the reassurance. I pried on them a little bit, but they didn't want to budge. I guess its just rust and dirt thats holding them on so tight. Can I assume from what you've already said that they don't require special rims?[)]

nope, they work exactly like regular hubcaps... but apparently in this case tighter They might never have been off, since it appears that they don't have to be removed to change tires or add/remove balancing weights.

Squirt dishwahing soap with a tiny amount of water
around under them between them and wheel. If you
have a one way lug wrench, as comes with car, use
it to pry them off. It won't be as apt to bend them.
Don't pry all in one place. go around.
