I am slightly considering putting a split manifold on my 6 cylinder "50." Has anyone ever made this change and what were the results?

It's been done many times. Friend of mine has a '53 Champion coupe with a split manifold and dual carbs. Sounds like 3 Harleys going down the road at once. Very unusual and distinctive exhaust note. Music to my ears!

Bill Cathcart sells them if you don't want to build your own.

Here is the one Gord is referring to with an aftermarket Offenhauser manifold.

Well Jimmie, it seems that we still have not answered your question ie: RESULTS!
Maybe it would have been a little better to have this over on the Technical Forum.

But obviously you are are going to have a slight increase in performance and a big INCREASE in fuel usage! The plus will be the sound!

It would be interesting if Vegas Paul would jump in here, and tell us what 1/4 mile times and or MPG numbers he has found with his cool Hot Rod '51 Champion Business Coupe! [^]
