Lately I have seen two or three Champs that were painted that color. I thought mine was the only "Carolina Blue" Champ. Was that really a stock color? I didn't think so but if it is that's great.

Is that dash as nice as it looks in the pictures? With a new seat cover you would be on your way. The floor will be easier to fix with the seat removed for a while anyway.

That is the color of one of only two Champs I ever remember seeing around my hometown when I was younger..in fact, I can remember both of them into the '70's. The other one was a faded red that looked like a tomato!

Not a truck expert (only owned four Studebaker trucks and none were Champs) and I didn't look it up, but didn't all Champ pickups come with 1960 Lark style parking lights? A 1962 shouldn't even have amber lights or lenses.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the 60 parking lamp assemblies were used on all year Champs with the exception of 61, which used the 59 assemblies, or was it the other way around? I dont have my parts manual with me here.

Can anyone give the reason why Studebaker used such a short clutch pedal arm on the Champs? They sure added to the effort to operate the clutch & look weird.

Actually it is real simple, it made sense in 1960 to use 1960 Lark Parking light/Air Inlet Housings on the the new '60 Champ.

But on 1961 to 1964 they wanted to make it look different (cheap change) and in my opinion WAY better, by using the '59 Lark Housings since they match the Champ Grille.

Of course on T4 Standard Cabs they used Off-White Painted ones, and not the Deluxe Cab Chromed ones like the cars had, in both '59 & '60 Style.
These also match the wheels, Taillights & Brac. (on P1 bed) & bumper on T6, plus the Headlight Rims, hubcaps and Mirrors on T4.

Parking Light Lenses: the Lenses/or bulbs were changed on all US cars and trucks in 1963 to Amber, so '63-'64 Champs also have Amber lenses.

Since Joe had to rebuild the floors in his Champ he has some advise on reinforcing the area so your doors will work better. He's not much on internet chats so he'll probably just wait to tell you.
