What does the G stand for on the serial # tag? Too bad this one is so far gone. I love these but I sure don't need any project cars as I have three now.

1957 Packard Clipper
1958 Golden Hawk
1963 Daytona Convertible
1963 R2 Daytona
1963 R2 GT Hawk
1963 R1 Wagonaire
1963 R4 Avanti
1964 Champ
1966 Cruiser

Wow! I wouldn't call that "far gone" at all! To us NE guys that's a real find[:I]

Definitely a makeable car[8D]

G means Champion from 39 to 54. In 1955 Champions became G6 and Commanders became G8.

It is called a "Commander", and other variations of the spelling, but the "G" in the S/N and the six cylinder peg it as a Champion.

The body looks good to me. I see it as a good start to a modified wagon. Put another interior and drivetrain in it and finish the body.

Note that it will cost an additional $200 to get a title for the wagon.

The last picture---the pickup cab only--are they thinking that's a Stude?? I'm thinking a Dodge. Thoughts[?] One piece windshield. Suicide door.
