I am surprised, as Tractor Supply tends to anchor the high-priced end of the market, but it is running a national sale of 2.5 Gallon Shell Rotella T 15w-40 at 19.99. Good buy, latest specs. (good bicepts workout)

I e-mailed Shell and asked them what the Zinc and Phosphorus levels were of the CJ-4/SM Triple Protection Rotella T. They said:

"Shell Rotella T Multigrade Oil SAE 15W-40 with Triple Protection
Technology, our API CJ-4/SM specification product, typically contains about 1200 ppm zinc and 1100 ppm phosphorous as manufactured."

that translates to $1.99 for a fully tested, fully certified, oil. Compare that to the "Classic" motor oils going for $5.99 to $8.99

Looked up the oil company who makes the "Classic Car" custom oils, there are 3 of them, almost identical adverts. Surprise, their main line is CI-4plus Diesel Lubricant, with similar specs. As the specs are vague in the advert, attempting to get real specs and will get back to you.

Shell has also re-released Shell Rotella CI-4plus 15w-40 in response to demand from the overwhelming majority of the trucking industry who do not have the special particulate filters in the new trucks. No, I do not know, yet, where to get it.

You saw my prediction here last year that this would happen.
