56 Wagon ????

The upper tail gate on the bottom sides is what looks like might have been plastic held with 2 #8 sheet metal screws. WHAT GOES ON THERE???
I bought all the hardware from SASCO last May plus a bottom tail gate.

The outer frame (shell) of the upper tail gate, it is the same, 1954 to 1959 and made of formed steel, if you are talking about a car you bought with unknown history, that would be a different story than an NOS tailgate.

Maybe the FO fibreglassed it!

There is a indention and 2 screw holes it is just like the ones at the top that the hinges screw into. But the bottom 2 holes had what was left of plastic held on with 2 screws. And it is a Parkview.

I have a 56 Pelham and it has a metal cover held on by two screws that cover the lock. Also on each side of the top door(bottom) there is a set of hard plastic ,(I will call them Bumpers for lack of a better term) that keeps the door from moving back and forth when shut. I see them for sale from time to time on E-Bay

That's really what they are - bumpers. They're made of nylon.
