Hey Colorado Springs huh, well Bud will have to try to make it to that one. His build sheet say's he was sold new there. That would be really cool, to do South Bend (where he was built) and then follow it up the following year in Colorado Springs (where he was sold).

Thats great news. Fourty years that will be since the original one there back in 1973 which we attended as our first SDC International. Memorable Meet out at the Air Force Academy. Just returned from that great Meet at Lancaster which was our 15th but its hard to beat Dick Quinn who has'nt missed one since 1968 which made Lancaster his 41st.

Colorado Springs sounds doable (barring health, fuel, economic disasters), just a two day drive and a pretty one at that.

If I get real lucky I might make the 2012 in Indiana.
I might be there anyway for the centenary of Stutz & the Stutz meet in Indianapolis. Hopefully the dates will work out...a long shot but who knows? Never hurts to be a bit optomistic.

My house in southeastern Massachusetts to:
            South Bend - 908 miles
            Cedar Rapids - 1228 miles
            Springfield, MO - 1400 miles
            Colorado Springs - 2055 miles
            Glendale, AZ - 2682 miles

I've done South Bend twice for internationals, also driven to Chicago, but all those other places are a LONG drive! While there was an international meet in Massachusetts some years ago, not many of the local chapter members have put up hands to volunteer for a future one. New York, New Jersey, anywhere near the northeast for a future meet? Heck, by then I'll be an old man and can't drive too far.

                  Gary,
Like you, I'm a long distance from those western Internationals. I'm from Long Island and am too old to drive those distances. I've been to two International meets in South Bend and just got back from Lancaster. Loved it.
Probably, in the future, I'll have to consider flying to those far away events. My wife won't trust me to drive such a long distance.

                    Rog,
Western Internationals???? Yous guys in the NY area need a new definition of West. I'm really in the West here in Sacramento.
                    1841 mi. to Cedar Rapids
                    766 mi. to Glendale
                    1887 mi. to Springfield
                    2116 mi. to Southbend
                    1246 mi. to Colorado Springs
I don't know if even the Arizona meet is a possibility for me. We'll see. I've never been to Southbend though. I need to make the trek to Mecca one of these days.

Were the dates firmly set yet for Iowa? I seem to remember seeing something about May/June. But this was my first meet EVER, and I was so transfixed by the sight of all those Studebakers that I didn't pay much attention to mundane things like future meet dates.
