  • exhaust gas

Hello to all, these days there are more and more rumours about the exhaust gas of classic cars in holland
Maybe in your state of California or even others too?

Are there solutions, while still using the 289?
I read something about a Volvo system of air injection in the exhaust manifold on 1980 engines

In California our cars are exempt from any smog controls or regulations now being made before model year 1975, so there is no further retrofitting of controls other than what was originally produced. I cannot speak for other nations such as Holland, but if that is the case that they will be requiring additional equipment on older (classic cars) then you have to wait to see what will be mandated. If that does become the case, I would convert to compressed natural gas. I know that with this system a home filling unit is available, although not cheap ($3,000 US) & is being promoted here by Honda dealers that sell the Civic GX model.

While...this is "currently" true....the pain in the butt polititions are always on the move to severly dig into the "classic car" scene or attempt to eliminate then/us altogether!

God save SEMA.......and our old cars! It's all I have as a daily driver car...my 59 Lark 2dr wagon.
