  • Heater hose connections

Does it matter which hose goes to which connection on the heater control valve?

    Thanks

Yes. i.e. on a Avanti, I've had it blow the heater core.

        Hi Dan-
It's funny you posted this topic because this weekend I realized I had my heater hoses on wrong since...oh..about the early 80'S..!! [B)] No wonder my wife said it was always hot inside the Studebaker! [:I]

I was looking at a picture of Dick Steinkamp's GT Hawk he had when I realized this.
(I take it this is for one of your GT Hawks.)
Gang- Please correct me if I'm wrong here..
From the right angle nipple off the top of water pump housing, this hose should go to the valve fitting on an angle. From the straight fitting on the valve to the bottom port on the heater core. From the top fitting of the heater core to the nipple on the water pump housing, closest to the water pump.

Sorry, I don't have a picture to post. Again, corrections are welcome!

BTW- I am planning to use some right angle molded hoses(cut to length from a FLAPS) for the hoses directly connected to the heater core.

        Best Regards- Matt
