What body panels interchange with 53-54 C-K?

Since I plan to keep my 53 "forever", I thought I might start to collect some spare body panels when the opportunity arises, just in case the unthinkable happens and some inconsiderate soul runs into my pride and joy.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge and if anyone has any of these parts taking up precious space please let me know.

Body-wise... EVERYTHING...(depending on body-style- coupe/hardtop)
Hood, Trunklid, doors, fenders, quarters, rear gravel deflector, air scoop, tiebar, body tub,

Body-Style is important... Coupe doors will NOT fit a hardtop... but many other items are the same between the 2-styles.

Some holes and trim locations differ, but the stampings are the same.
Some trim is also year-specific. It will interchange and "fit"... but won't be technically correct (such as the tail lights, hood ornaments, etc..)

What Studeman said. I would add that an extra hood would probably be the most important spare to have tucked away. It's a vulnerable part and unique to '53-54.

Thanks Ray, I need to expand my question I guess. What body panels from other years 55-61 are the same. For instance I believe that 55 doors are the same, what about rear quarter panels up through the Hawks? Since my car is modifed quite a bit, any panel I get would also have to be modified before I could use it, but at least it would be something to start fresh from rather than something that is crumpled.

I figure if I collect this stuff, it will reduce the odds of getting hit. Kinda like expensive insurance.

FWIW I used a door off a '57 Golden Hawk to replace a bashed door on my '53 Starliner.

55-56 doors are exactly the same, 57-64 do not have the "scallop" in the side. Quarters are the same save for the trim holes through 61. 62-64 have a slightly different contour in the taillight area but could be used in a pinch to keep a driver on the road.

.. a few additions/notes and clarifications to above comments...

Fenders- the OUTER front fender is the same through '64.. but the inners and area around the radiator are only the same through '54.

Ventilators- All C/K through '64

Lower air scoop- '53/54 only... but you could probably modify any C/K up to '64 without much trouble

Rear bumper valance- Fits between body/bumper @ lower lip of trunklid- C/K 53-56, and again C/K 62-64. '57-61 are different below the taillights.

Exhaust deflector- '53-'64

Quarter Panels.. all C/K through '64 with easy modifications

Body Tub- all coupes through '61

Frame- all C/K through '64 with minor mods (I would try to find a GT Hawk Frame)

Trunklid- '53-'55 C/K, but all C/K will "fit" through '64

Trunk Floor- all C/K through '64

The '53 gravel shield was way different than the '54. It was essentially just a little strip of metal.

Also, if you're just wanting to put some away, call Bob at C&B(?) in Hayward/Castro Valley. If you've read the threads, you know he's closing out his yard. And since you're in California it should be worth it.
