There were a lot more, but they're dying fast. If you find one, hurry up and go while it lasts! [:0]

The Southern States and Calif. HAD some "Studebaker's" Resturants I think. I heard a new independent one (not in the "chain") was being built on I90 between Western Wash. and Eastern Washington near the Cascades Mountain Range in 2006.

I've heard of one in Cashmere, not on I-90, but could that be the one?

There is a Studebaker Casino and truck stop west of Lafayette, La. on I-10 about 10 miles. Good food and Studebaker Painting on the wall.

            Cool...

Twenty or more years ago, for too short a while, there was a diner on Plains Road in west Burlington (near here; it's the main city street around the end of the harbour between Hamilton and Burlington, and the road my Lark travels to the big Mapleview cruises) called Studeburgers. It occupied a small art-deco-style building said at the time to have housed a Studebaker dealership in the 50s. Up top on the roof, the diner owners had "parked" a cosmetically-refurbished bulletnose Starlight hulk, painted bright yellow. Inside the diner, everything was chrome, checkerboard floors, jukeboxes, the typical Fifties theme. Unaccountably, given my propensity for photographing absolutely anything of interest, I never took a shot of Studeburgers, and it closed after only a couple years of serving "fries with that".

The building still stands in good shape, now operating as a Toyo Tires store, as striking as ever with all those curved walls. It certainly looks the part of a car dealership. I do not know whether or not Studes were genuinely sold there though.

I Googled the Studeburgers name, in the hope of finding something in cyberspace about the local diner with the Starlight up top; no joy, but I did run across an unrelated eatery Stateside (Pennsylvania??) sporting the same name. Got to dine there someday. Anyone on here besides me remember the Studeburgers on Plains Road in Burlington in the 1980s?

            S.

I know this has nothing to do with Studebaker restaurants, in South Bend there's a place called Studebagels not far from Notre Dame Univ.

You can go to drivers club member David Walker's Bantam Chef restaurant in Chesnee,SC and have a studeburger. He even has a bullet nose in the dining room as well as some neat old pictures and miniatures. There is also a BMW isetta and I want to say a studebaker wagon and a whizzer motorbike(Havent been there in a while so may be wrong on the whizzer and wagon)Its a Real Blast From The Past everyone within driving range should stop and enjoy.Steve

I Heard about it from the guy trying to find a real '51 Bullet nose front clip to make an advertising sign. Never been there. [:0]

Mark; Yes, that one COULD be 5-10 miles Northeast or whatever of here and I would never know it, I don't get out much!
