  • Old Dealership Stuff

    Hey Guys,

Back when I was in middle school my uncle gave me some Studebaker banners. He got them from his uncle when he passed away. His uncle owned a Studebaker dealership back in the day. I have a Gran Turismo Hawk Banner, a 60 Hawk Banner, two different Lark banners, and a Cruiser banner. All are original and I have kept them in my closet to keep sunlight away from them. He kept the Champion Banner and has it hanging up behind his bar. These are not for sale. I'll try to get pictures up sometime. How rare are these banners?

Also I bought my 53 C Coupe from the original owner and it had a studebaker dealership emblem on it from a dealership in New Holstein, WI. I'll have to write it down next time I'm at my storage facility.

Any dealership stuff like that is hard to come by, especially if they're in decent shape. Nice stash!

Sounds like some cool memorabilia that was past on to you. I would like to see the pics when you get a chance to post them.[8D]

I got this one on ebay not too long ago to go along with a picture of the dealership inwhich my 2r5 came from.
I, like you would like to find a photo of a similar banner hanging in a dealership. Good luck in your quest, and enjoy the man cave garage art.

In pre-eBay days, I got rid of most of the signage that I had. I had a stack of Lark banners and hanging showroom signs. I believe that I sold them all together for $40 to the guy in the middle of the country (MO?) that was an SDC Director and that has a Studebaker themed restaurant. I sold my six foot long "LARK" two faced back illuminated outdoor sign to C. Studebaker for $40 delivered to Reedsville/York. I wonder what it sold for in Mr. Studebaker's estate sale and who now owns the sign.

I think that the only Studebaker sign (not counting STP) that I have retained is my 42" round, double faced, metal, porcelain faced, "Studebaker Authorized Service" sign. I wouldn't let that go for less than $1000. I don't know, maybe the price has reached that point.

It's not so much that I want to sell the sign or need to sell it, but I would sell it now for $1000 cash. I will not ship or deliver it, however.

I just bought 3 Colorful Dealership banners a year ago. They are four feet high and nineteen feet long. The first one says(Look and youll [u]LOVE</u> that LARK six stunning styles for '60)
The 2nd one is a 61 Lark banner
The 3rd one says (for the BIG NEWS in the LOW PRICE FIELD The BIG NEW STUDEBAKER)

Has anyone seen this style banner
What years were advertised as The Big New Studebaker?

No, I don't have pictures. The sign is better than all but one that I have seen and that was an NOS example. The sign has a few small stone chips, some wear in one section of the very outer edge and wear around the two mounting holes. The sign has hung indoors for the 40 years that I have owned in.

Yes, I plan on being at Lancaster from Sunday to Saturday. I do not believe that the sign will fit in anything that I may be driving, in case that is what you were thinking.
