This may not sit well with some, but I thought the work on this project was pretty interesting:

Just shows what can be done with "less popular" but good old cars.

Several years ago I saved a packard 4dr sedan from the crusher. I had a similar idea of just putting it in black epoxy primer and driving it. I wouldn't lower it though.

However, one thing and another prevented such from happening and the car was passed on for what I had in it to a friend of a buddy.

With all due respect to anyone who is a fan of this genre of Packard, I personally find this to be a great improvement over the original lines. These were cars of great quality when they were originally manufactured - I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Or, as it is sometimes put, in the eye of the title holder. I don't know that I have ever seen a Packard of this era rodded in this fashion. I have never found this style of Packard to be particularly attractive, but it makes for a heck of a sweet, cool-looking rod.

I've been looking at so called "rat rods" lately; but really fell in love with them last week at the Syracuse Nationals[:X] They're clearly having more fun per dollar spent than anyone else[8D]

I might build one someday, but I don't know if I've got the skills (or the onions) to do a job like that guy's doing[:0] Great-looking work! Don't worry- I can't think of a Stude I'd like to "rat rod";)

Thanks for sharing that, Pat. I'll be watching his progress....... and thinking...................

If anyone wants to do one like it, Guido has a 52 Packard that he wants to sell.
